The film centres around three main characters, all of whom women, and all of whom are central to the plot. Their scenes together are to advance the plot, and are plot relevant. I believe (if I’m remembering correctly) that there is only one scene where even the notion of male relationships is hinted at, although this is still relevant to the plot.
