There are several named Women in this fill except the one of them is dead, but main protagonist does base most of her conversation with other women about men. Whether its talking to her mom about having a boyfriend and she talks with old friends about boy they went to school with. The leading role only has small, not important chit chat with other women about things besides men. I dont know if it would technically count.

I wouldn't call it dubious. There are plenty of examples of this film passing. During the first scene with Cassie and her parents, Cassie and her mother have an exchange about Cassie coming home late due to her "doing inventory". In the following scene, Gail and Cassie talk about a position that opened up at head office (a man told her, but he's not the focus of the conversation) that Gail recommended her for, and whether or not Cassie actually enjoys working at the coffee shop. In the next scene with Cassie and her parents, she and her mother talk about the gift on the chair, Cassie forgetting her own birthday, Cassie's lack of friends, and Cassie still living in her parents' house. In the scene after, Gail and Cassie discuss the suitcase her parents got her and how Cassie should move out of her parents' house. When Cassie meets with Madison, they talk about how they look compared to the last time they saw each other, having children, getting day drunk, and Madison's initial reaction to Nina's assault allegations. Before talking about the boy band Wet Dreams, Cassie tells Amber that her phone died and that she needs directions to Castle Diner, and Amber replies that she's late to class. Cassie and Dean Walker begin their conversation talking about how Cassie wants to return to Forrest, and they spend the rest of the conversation talking about Nina and Amber (albeit mostly in relation to other men.) Cassie and Nina's mom briefly talk about Nina's 16th birthday party and how Nina threw up on a swing. When Madison and Cassie talk a second time, Cassie asks Madison if she wants a glass of water, to which she replies no, and the two of them talk about the video of Nina's assault. Although several of the conversations between the women in this film are about men, that is clearly not the only thing they talk to each other about.

Not even close to being dubious. I agree with everything Ben mentioned. To add to that: Nina's mother is Mrs. Fisher which should count as a name and their entire conversation is about a woman (Nina).Another example is Cassie's conversation with Ruby (the dean's daughter) about makeup and a band the girl likes. Not to mention that this film was written and directed by a woman. It passes with flying colors.

tweak: I personally feel like it's almost unfair to put Promising Young Woman through the Bechdel Test, as the main character's purpose is to seek justice for the wrongs committed by men. Because the film centers on men and the power dynamic between genders, even the conversations that don't directly involve men still touch on the impact of patriarchy and rape culture on women. For instance, the exchange between Cassie and her mother about her late return from "inventory" involves Cassie lying about being with men. While the movie may technically pass the Bechdel test, it only does so on a surface level due to its subject matter being focused on men and their actions in perpetuating rape culture.
