Okay, this one is a credits-del, as, as involved in the plot as the three women are in (what the Saw Wiki calls) The Fatal Five's Trial, none of them take the time to say their names in between confessing their wretched sins of gentrification and not working together. But they're certainly named in the credits (and probably in some of the papers that are lying around in Jigsaw/Hoffman's "control booth"). Figuring out who's who from the credits hmmm takes a little work, but if you're looking for the cleanest 'del, it's in the first room with the "Neck Tie Traps":
(Ashley Kazon, played by Laura Gordon, wakes up first and sees Meagan Good's character, Luba Gibbs, starting to fuss with the trap)
Ashley: Wait, don't move.
Luba: What did you do to me?
Ashley: I didn't do anything.
(Then Mallick, one of the men, says it's Jigsaw's doing, but up til then, clear Bechdel passing convo!)
And yet, passing the Bechdel was not the most feminist choice this film made. If the IMDB Trivia page is to be believed:
"The original screenplay called for the characters played by Meagan Good and Julie Benz to go through most of their ordeal wearing just their undergarments. The production team decided against this when they realized how committed and serious the two actresses were about their roles."
They were seriously going to put stars from acclaimed girl-power masterpieces D.E.B.S. and Buffy: The Vampire Slayer in bra-and-panties blood bath until they proved themselves worthy of proper clothing... enough to make you think men shouldn't be allowed to make movies anymore.
Or at least be put in a SAW trap where it's like "Your whole career, you've treated the women you've worked with like their only assets were under their clothes. In order to set yourself free, you'll need to eat all the used underwear you've filmed them in." That'll sure teach 'em...
