Laura Charles is kidnapped by the evil music producer Eddie Arkadian and forced to watch the video he has made of Angie Viracco. (He wants Laura to play it on her version of Soul Train - a theme of white people forcing their way into black spaces with a backdrop of cultural sharing between the Asian Kung-Fu teacher and our Black lead, Leroy Green)
In any case, after her music video is over, Angie asks Laura if she liked it. Eddie starts saying intimidating things to Laura, and when she speaks next, she looks at Angie and says "It's not that I didn't like it, but-" and then Angie hops on that to try to calm Eddie down.
So, the way we saw it, Angie asked and Laura answered, seemingly a conversation not about a man that gets interrupted by a man, continued, and then turned into a conversation about and involving a man.
A dubious-del, but we'd like to hear some amicus briefs, if anyone's got them...
