The only part of the movie that allows it to pass is towards the beginning, where Ivy (Reggie's grandmother) and Sheila (Reggie's mother) have an incredibly brief, unscripted, off-screen, muffled exchange about Sheila putting away the broom she's using before she leaves the house. There are a few other interactions between the two of them throughout the film, but all of them revolve around other men. Otherwise, the few named female characters in the film never speak to one another.

I also disagree with the rating. That odd-screen interaction is completely inaudible and I wouldn’t have known it happened at all if I hadn’t had the captions on.
