The second criterion might even be dubious. I'm not sure there's ever a conversation of significant length between two of the women with names, though at times Eva Ansley addresses the family which includes Minnie McMillian, and there is a brief exchange between Ansley and Brenda.

Your honour, we would like to motion for a retrial. Just Mercy does indeed pass the Bechdel Test at a 3 out of 3. We accept the testimonial moments of near-conversation between named women presented by the previous witness, James. And yet, we would like to draw your attention to 50'52":

During a montage of attempts to gather evidence exculpating Walter McMillian, Eva drops by a local diner, where a rather helpful Deb, produces a flyer for the November 1st Fish Fry which the McMillian family had offered as an alibi.
Now, one might think that, as the evidence is only being sought in conjunction with an (innocent) man, that this scene could not pass The Bechdel. We submit the transcript for consideration:

DEB - "I was right. The fish fry was on November 1st. Same day as the murder. They put these up all over town." (Produces handwritten and inviting flyer)
EVA - "I could kiss you, Deb."
DEB - [Chuckles]

Even if your honour would like to disqualify this conversation on the grounds that the flyer is ultimately connected to Walter (though he is not mentioned! Both the family "they" and "the murder" are referents which involve multiple people of different genders) - we must accept the chuckled reply to a personal thank you as a line/line dialogue between two named women not involving a man.

Thank you, your honour. We rest our case.

...

(An honourable mention goes to Eva's scene right before this one, but her scene partner is credited as Local Female Witness so womp-womp...

In any case, a thoroughly moving movie for developing conversations about the American INjustice system - even if its Bechdel toes the line, the women in the film feel honestly represented and impactful to the story and its emotional weight. Highly Recommended)
