During the Kobayashi Maru sequence, right at the beginning, there is a very minimal (one line each) exchange between Saavik and Uhura concerning the distress call. About as minimal a pass as you could get.

However minimal, it still satisfies the conditions. I say it's not dubious.

I was pretty on the fence about giving it a "dubious" but one of the other factors that led me to was that there's a bit of an anonymous feel to it with the military nature of the interaction. Saavik's reply to Uhura is an order to put the distress call on the speakers, which is just kind of issued as a blanket order that theoretically could be to anyone within earshot (except for the preceding dialogue with Uhura reporting the distress call).

So still rather on the fence about it, even as a squeaker.

They actually have a marginally more substantial exchange later in that scene after the Klingons show up.

Saavik turns to face Uhura: "Inform the Klingons we are on a rescue mission."
Uhura (with eye contact): "They're jamming all the frequencies captain."

Note to wayofdisaster: Uhura's job is the Communications officer, so even without eye contact, the order is meant for Uhura. While that's not explicitly stated, it's something that was established on-screen...what, 16 years prior, during the show?

There's also an interaction between the two on the Regula station, where Saavik interrupts Uhura's hails to essentially tell her to stop calling. She addresses Uhura by name. This may be dubious as Uhura's hails weren't for Saavik in particular.

I never really thought about it but even though theres female penal colonists and female scientists, none of them talk to each other. And Carol doesnt really speak directly to Saavik when they're in the Genesis cave. Not as progressive as the TV series.
