There are a few women, including a secondary character. In only one scene do two women talk to each other, though only one of them is named, and their dialogue is unheard but appears to be about the all-male band onstage.
There is a scene in which there is an obvious missed opportunity for a qualifying conversation, in which Hildy's mom visits the club while his daughter is in the back office. But it never occurs to any of the men, who even go back and forth between the two women in the scene, to mention to either woman that her relative is in the next room. No reason is given for this oversight.
