Named women with major speaking roles include Gwen Stacy, Aunt May, Peni Parker, Mary Jane, Rio Morales, and Dr Olivia.
However these women never have any conversations with each other. There is a scene where all the alternate reality Spider people meet at Aunt May's house and introduce themselves to each other. But I don't think that general cross talk had anything that would count as more than a heavily dubious pass.

Aunt May and "Liv" swap one liners at the house. MJ and Gwen talk to each other at the reception.

I agree with the rating, the very small amount of cross talk should not be enough to qualify the movie. Plus, in general this disappoints me. I love this movie

No disrespect Marc, May and Liv don't actually converse. Liv says Hi to everyone. Gwen talks to MJ but is kind of blanked. I agree with original poster J. Sad as this was magnificent from start to finish and a masterpiece in observations.

Cross talk is still conversation. Stop whining about dumb shit like this.

This might be one of my favorite movies of all time, but OP is right. One word interactions, like saying "Hi" or "Liv", do not constitute a conversation. That doesn't mean the movie is bad or that you can't like it, it is just a fact-it doesn't pass the test.

Towards the end of the movie when the interdimentional spider people are about to go back to their own dimensions, Gwen says to the group, "Guess this is it." Then Peni says, "Well, nice to know we're not alone, right?" To which, Gwen responds "Yeah." It's not much, but this interaction passes part 2 and part 3. The idea of the Bechdel test is that it's an absurdly low bar. There's no requirement for a full on conversation, just that one named women says something to another named women that isn't about a man.

Agree with the other comments here, it passes on a technicality.

Olivia also says directly to May that her home is cute, before May goes "Oh great, it's Liv." Olivia established earlier that only her friends call her Liv. I know this second fact doesn't technically count towards the rating, but it does count towards my love of this movie and it's female characters. Regardless, I think it should at least meet 2/3, if not 3/3. I hope they take this more into consideration in the future, too
