Bechdel Test Movie List

This movie definitely passes. Though it carries on Hollywood's erasure of gender and sexual diversity, it revolves around several female characters. The girls are like "bros" though with less toxic masculinity. They are the centre of the story and talk about things like moving in together, they have adventures and do daring things. I loved this film because it shows a female centred power structure that is normally completely erased. This movie has gotten tonnes and tonnes of 1* reviews. It definitely is an average movie at worst, however many neckbeard, Incel and MRM types are brigading it because this movie does NOT centre around the male experience. Though the director does manage to objectify the girls through a male lens at times. Would have been better directed by a feminist woman who is capable of pointing a camera at a girl without it seeming like you're a creepy guy staring up her shorts.

Really just want to point out that the movie doesn't really have a better rating among female critics than among male critics; it is truly a terrible movie no matter what gender you are and the gender of the director doesn't really matter when making good movies. This concept and this script would have been just as bad with a female director.

It does pass the test, which is in itself testament of how meaningless the test is when gauging quality.
