There are many named women in this film. The main female character, Verona, talks with her mother-in-law, a former co-worker, her sister, a friend from college, and a niece. A lot of these conversations also involve her husband and sometimes another male significant other.
Alone with her sister, she discusses childhood memories, their parents' death, and how they have each handled it over the years.
