Ingrid Jessner (Frances McDormand) and Theresa Doyle (Michelle Fairley) talk in the begining of the movie about a photograph and proofs of torture. They talk again later, it is a plot-relevant conversation, but mostly about men (Harris and Kerrigan). Actually, Theresa is acting as middle woman between Harris and Ingrid, so she is always talking in his name.
Ingrid also talks with Ms. Molloy (Maureen Bell) but the entire conversation is about their respective husbands. The same happens with the conversation between Ingrid and Moa (Mai Zetterling). It is all aboit Ingrid husband's death.
