This film centres around three teenage girls in 1956, one of whom has apparently gotten pregnant.
The three girls are in virtually every scene and talk about all manner of subjects. They do spend rather a lot of time discussing boys (especially one boy in particular; she didn't get pregnant all by herself) but the dialogue covers plenty of other topics as well (the space race, the Cold War, stealing cars, schoolwork etc). They also interact with a number of other named female characters throughout the film.
