Several important conversations between Stella and her daughter Laurel, between Laurel and Mrs Morrison, and between Laurel, Stella, and Laurel's teacher. I would further argue that while the very moving scene between Stella and Mrs Morrison does mention Stella's husband, it's not really about him.
