While the film appears to ostensibly pass the test repeatedly, the new, strong female character (Rose) who is shocking because... oh my god... she looks like average woman with a normal build and flaws. That seems great, right? Sure- until she completely contradicts her entire personality by falling for Finn so hard that she actually behaves EXTREMELY SELFISHLY FOR THE BENEFIT OF A MAN who was about to do something very noble (yet stupid) and sacrifice his life to save The Resistance base. Why does she do this? Because she can't bear "losing her new boo". So much disappoint! Meanwhile, after the crash incident, while she kisses him and professes her love just before passing out, in the background that First Order Grond-thing blasts the base's doors open which would appear to doom the last of The Resistance to death, all because of a man. It's an affront at worst and bait and switch at best!

I almost forgot, when Admiral Holds and Princess Leia do speak to each each other, what do they speak about? Poe! FAIL!

This is purely wrong. I did find it interesting that this page is empty. Even though Star Wars the Last Jedi is the biggest feminist propaganda piece in years they couldn't even make their own precious women characters pass this basic test. The only time I can think it could possibly pass it is when Leia and Holdo talk about Holdo sacrficing herself on the ship of the resistance. This however does't even count as the main subject of conversation just before this is talking about Poe (a man) and how great he is.

The Test requires two women talking about a non-male topic. Leia and Holdo do talk to each other when they said goodbye and remember all the good times. Short? Yes. Irrelevant to the overall story? Also true. These values aren't considered in the test? Correct.

This film definitely passes the test in several instances (although the women also sometimes talk about men like Luke and Poe, they also talk about strategy and leading the rebellion forward). There are also a LOT of conversations about tactics and war logistics between women who aren't named in the film (I'm sure all the toys have names, though).

The Bechdel test has never been an ultimate test of feminism (pretty much every adaptation of Cinderella passes with flying colors, but I've never seen one that was a benchmark for feminism).

This film is a clear pass.

Darf, Rose did not save Finn for selfish reasons. She did it because he was being hot-headed and getting himself killed for no reason. His ship was going to burn up before it reached the canon. There was no way the ship was strong enough to destroy the it. Rose even refers to that.
