This wonderful movie is not perhaps feminist in modern terms, but it is female-centered and female-driven. The film centers around Mildred's relationship with her daughter, and Mildred's business partner and best friend Ida, with whom she shares several scenes, is played by the always-awesome Eve Arden.

This is one of those films that possibly doesn't pass the reverse Bechdel test. Is there any scene where there are two men talking about something other than women with no women present?

Conor disagreed with the rating and said:
It does indeed fail the Bechdel test, there is a scene approximately 1:11 in where Ida, Mildred's close friend, and Mildred are discussing Mildred's love of Monte and Wally's jealousy.

Perhaps you should review the requirements of passing the bechdel test. A conversation can only be provided as proof the film passes the test; any conversation which falls short of the requirement (due to it involving men) does not fail a movie. A movie can only fail if EVERY conversation fails.
