There are multiple female characters including main character Mija. Mija frequently speaks to other women about her pet Superpig, Okja. Okja has been taken from Mija, and Mija speaks to many women (Nancy, Lucy) about getting her back. In some instances, their conversation is through a translator, but as the movie progresses Mija learns more English and begins to address the women and others in English.
