The movie is the British adaptation of the same-name 1879 play by Henrik Ibsen. The play has been widely considered one of the greatest of all time, exploring the traditional roles of men and women in society. While Ibsen himself said that the play was intended to show human's individuality, many have interpreted the play (and movie) to be the portrayal of women rights and feminism. In the movie, there are several female characters (most notably Nora and Kristine). They did converse together even though they did reference men a lot. However, Kristine and Nora did talk to each other at the beginning of the movie about Kristine's work, which did not directly referencing men.
