The movie is primarily focused on a young, gay Korean-American teen's struggle with his sexuality and his family's economic situation. However, his mother is named, and she also speaks with Mrs. Baek about numerous topics (mostly about men) but also about taking a job at her Mrs. Baek's restaurant after she lies and says that she's retired. Later, at the restaurant, she and Mrs. Baek briefly talk about getting prepared for a large reservation.
There are other named women characters (the other college students), but their interactions only seem to be in the background, or talking about the male characters.
