Bechdel Test Movie List

Does talking about a 'non-real' and typically non-metaphorical topic really count as talking about something other than men? Most of buffy has the women either talking extensively about the men in their lives or else they're talking about the magic presented in the show, which tends to be trivial in the sense that it's not actually part our society's current reality AND usually doesn't even have a metaphorical value that relates to real life, especially when considering the dialogue itself line-for-line, which is what's under examination in a Bechdel Test.

Just because a story isn't based on your version of reality does not make it meaningless.

replying to Bug: I believe this rating is referring to the film which came out 5 years prior to the show. Buffy and her friends are all named (Jennifer, Cassandra, Nicki and Kimberly), talk with one another regularly and discuss things like dances, the environment, and school overall.

As for whether the TV show passes the bechdel test, I believe talking about "non-real" and "non-metaphorical" topics count. The idea of this test is simply this: talking about "something" besides a man.
