Bechdel Test Movie List

I watched this one not too long ago, and I do recall a few conversations, not centered on men, involving female characters. There's one between Sinead and her mother and grandmother, after the Black & Tans have burned their farm and shaved Sinead's hair off. I also recall one between Sinead and Lily, the other woman from the Cuman na mBan who acted as a judge in the courtroom scene.

Yeah, Sinead has a conversation with her mother and grandmother about whether or not they should move out of their house, which definitely qualifies.

I agree with both Marina and Jestak. Highlighted as a female judge in the 1920s, Lily Kearney (Fiona Lawton) also interviews Mrs. Rafferty (Clare Dineen) in the Dáil court scene.

But, in the courtroom scene, wasn't the discussion between Kearney and Rafferty about Mr. Sweeney, a man?

There is a conversation between Sinead and her mother about leaving the house after it was burned. There is also the court room scene, when Lily interviews Mrs. Rafferty about her view on the situation. In this scene Sinead and Liy are also talking to each other very briefly, i recall (but i'm not sure).

Named Female Characters: Sinéad, Bernadette, Peggy, Lily, Julia.

Sinéad and the old lady Peggy (she's named) talk about moving houses. But the same conversation includes talking about the men who burned their house down and considering the option of living in a chicken coop where a man named Michael was killed.

Lily and Sinéad also talk about a killing but it becomes about a man named Finbar.

So the score should be 2/3.
