Sam Gilbert disagreed with the rating and said:
There are more than two women in the movie. Only one woman has more than a few lines, but when US soldiers invade a house, a woman protest vociferously. Two women have speaking roles.

Sam, would you consider those other women "named" characters?

Kelly Garbato disagreed with the rating and said:
The film has two named female characters: Lawrie Dayne (played by Amy Ryan), a reporter for the Wall Street Journal; and Mrs. (Sanaa?) Hamza (Soumaya Akaaboune?)*, the wife of an Iraqi Republican National Guard member who is kidnapped, tortured and killed by the U.S. military. Dayne appears sporadically throughout the film. In the theatrical release, Mrs. Hamza only makes one appearance, when the military raids her home. Aside from confused screaming, she doesn't have much of a speaking role here. (Of course, it's hard to tell for sure, unless you understand Arabic.) In a deleted scene featured on the DVD release, she has a second, lengthier role, wherein Roy Miller comes to her home to inform her of her husband's death and deliver his body to her.

No named female characters speak to one another. It's hard to say whether the theatrical release merits a 0/3 or a 1/3, since Mrs. Hamza barely makes an appearance; but if you factor in the deleted scene, 'Green Zone' definitely scores a 1/3.

* The IMDB credits are a little confusing; I can't remember Mrs. Hamza being addressed by her first name in the movie, but IMDB does not have a listing for a "Mrs. Hamza," or for any female with that surname. Process of elimination suggests that Sanaa = Mrs. Hamza, but I can't be 100% certain.
