Val is the first girl Jake hooks up with (in the car), and he later gets upset when he sees her out dancing with another guy. Her name is definitely mentioned in the movie. Beverly is the girl Jake starts seeing after he leaves flowers and a note. This movie scores 1 out of 3.

This film is the perfect example of one which fails the test.. as much as I love it, it is does a terrible job of fairly representing female characters. But as a woman watching it I find myself laughing at the idiocy of the male characters in almost a voyeuristic way, so in that sense I think males are equally quite poorly represented..
Either way, still a great film!!
