As well, the main character (Christine) has another encounter with the old gypsy woman. Later she talks to the gypsy's granddaughter about the curse and to her boyfriend's mother about a cake, her job, and her own mother's alcoholism. Then Christine employs a medium (named Shaun San Dena) and of course they talk about the curse some more.
