The two female characters do talk, but very briefly to each other - Selena says one line to Hannah in a grocery store about chocolate. The only substantial conversation they have with each other is towards the end when Selena gives Hannah Valium to protect her mentally.

However, they do both participate in group conversations, sometimes agreeing and sometimes not. They are also depicted as having a growing relationship (they don't have speaking lines, but you can see them playing cards and helping each other).

And in one alternate ending, the two women would have been the only survivors, meaning one more conversation at the end would apply.
