Bechdel Test Movie List

There's Lynn, Amanda, Jill, Deborah and others.

Lynn and Amanda spend a large portion of the film talking to each other. Most of the time, it is about Jigsaw, but inbetween there's a lot of taunting and personal references. Technically, it would pass with just this.

But there's also dialog between Lynn and Deborah about her work as a doctor.

Probably the most Bechdels per capita of any SAW film, all of which, we're pretty sure, occur between Amanda Young (Jigsaw's disciple) and Dr. Lynn Denlon (the surgeon Jigsaw has had Amanda kidnap to do high-squick brain cancer surgery on him with a shotgun collar around her neck).

Best 'del is when Lynn is struggling and yelling for help after just waking up from being kidnapped, and Amanda appears and is like "Are you gonna behave?"
And, of course, when Lynn has done everything asked of her and is begging Amanda to take the shotgun collar off and Amanda is like "I didn't promise you shit!"
According to IMDB Trivia, Shawnee Smith (Amanda) thought her fight with Bahar Smoomekh (Lynn) should have been more than enough to earn her the coveted MTV "Best Fight" nomination. She was snubbed.
All-in-all, quality Bechdel-passing content!


Special shout-out to the One-Sided-POC-del between Lynn (Persian) and her co-worker Deborah (Black), as Lynn refuses to respond to Deborah when she's checking in on her mental health - but they wrote her reeeeaaaal chatty in the operating room when there was a white boy to save - We see how it is!
