The main character, Eliza, is female, and she talks to her sister Debbie on several occasions in this movie.

This is actually quite a strongly passing one. In addition to SpongeSand's comment about Eliza and Debbie's interactions, there are multiple conversations between Marianne and her mother-in-law, Cordelia, mostly about the daughters' welfare, and Eliza also has conversations about travel, ground rules and booking plane tickets with Sarah and various other female roommates at her boarding school. Then there are Eliza's conversations with female animals, like Phaedra and Akela (about elephant riding and playing with the cheetah cubs, respectively).The female villain, Bree, also addresses Debbie at one point - "Hi! Can we help you?" "Yes, I'm looking for my sister, Eliza Thornberry." Excellent film, this one.
