There are four female characters with speaking roles: the antagonist, "Scarlet overkill", the queen of england, and a mother and daughter. In one scene the mother talks to her daughter, but she talks about how the girl's father had to work hard to be good at crime. Even this is a dubious 2/3 since I don't recall if the mother and daughter were even named characters, and if their dialogue would count since it was less than a minute. Kind of sad considering the gibberish dialogues between minions were longer.

I think that this might actually pass all three. If I recall correctly (been a week or so since I saw ti) the mother (Madge Nelson) asks her family what they want to do at the con and the daughter (Tina) replies that she wants to see Scarlet Overkill

They did in fact have names. They were a Nelson family. I don't recall if the mother had a name (I'm sure she did) and they mentioned the childrens' names when they picked up the minions.

I just remembered. During Scarlet's coronation, she squeezed the daughter Nelson's cheeks and said she was adorable. Boom! Bechdel Test has been passed!

Scarlett Overkill tells Tina Nelson that she is adorable near the end of the movie. Both are named characters. I was actually waiting for this film to pass the Bechdel test because a long time had passed and it had not and I was hoping it would. I didn't like the movie, but was relieved when the scene came.

During scarlet's coronation, she looks at the woman playing piano and says, "what's her name? She looks like an Edna. Edna! You're playing great!" Or something along those lines.
That's two named female characters, who talk to each other, about something other than a man.
Though when I saw that scene my first thought was that some screenwriter wanted to get cheeky with this very test and put that in there just to be funny. That line really came out of nowhere.

Do they /really/ count as conversations though. I thought two people have to discuss to actually have it be a conversation.

But madge and Tina Nelson have the conversation in the car, about Tina becoming a better villain, just because a man was mentioned doesn't mean the conversation was about the man, it was about self improvement

There's definitely a conversation between mother and daughter in the car. They mention the father, but it's NOT about the father, it's about the daughter's dreams and admiration for Scarlet.

The Minions themselves... Genderless, mixed, or --GASP-- all dudes? Unfortunately, the only named Minions have boy's names. Not definitive, but it is likely that Kevin, Stuart, and Bob are all guys. Just pointing it out, I agree that this passes. Plus, Scarlet is a secondary protagonist (Sort of) for the first bit, not to mention an idolised one. Just saying.

This movie does not pass because there isn't any actual dialogue. Yes, Madge Nelson talks to Tina about being a villain, but Tina doesn't say anything to her in response. Ditto, when Scarlet calls Tina adorable; no verbal response from Tina. The rating should be changed to 1/3.

the only named characters is Scarlett Overkill . We now it's The queen of england because she's a queen and she's in england
