A very clear pass. Margaret talks to her daughter Jane many times throughout the film, including in the very first scene, about life and art. Margaret also talks to her friend DeAnn several times, and while Margaret's husband does come up sometimes, their conversations to not revolve around him.
Overall, an interesting film examining women's roles in the 1960s and their lack of autonomy, as well as a strong female protagonist who eventually gains the courage to stand up to her abusive husband.
