Cinderella talks to her mother (who is not named) about the nature of kindness and hope. She also talks to Lady Tremaine, her stepmother, on several occasions about various non-man subjects (including the nature of kindness and hope). Cinderella also talks to her stepsisters Anastasia and Drisella.

Talking to family members doesn't count.

Chelsea, what are you talking about? Where does it say that? As far as I know, the characters have to be two named females who talk to each other about something besides a man. It never accounted for family members. Plus, I'm not sure just how familial Cinderella is with the Tremaine ladies. They're legally family, they don't treat each other like a family and there's no shared blood.

Why not? Family members can be women as well - can't they?

Step family isn't blood family. Where does it say family members don't count?

Kristen disagreed with the rating and said:
Cinderella discusses Kip (who she think is just an apprentice and not a prince) to her step-sisters, who go on about marrying a prince, while they get dressed.

But I still love this movie!

This movie is such a clear pass.

Cinderella has numerous conversations with her stepmother Lady Tremaine about all sorts of things: the ball, chores, the house, her step sisters, etc etc. Cinderella also talks to her step sisters Anastasia and Drizella numerous times, mostly when they insult her.

Plus, Cinderella has long conversations with her mother and her fairy godmother, who while not named in the literal sense, and central characters.

The vast majority of the movie involves conversations between women. It's a very, very clear pass.

Every adaptation of Cinderella goes further to prove that a film doesn't have to be a paragon of feminism in order to pass the Bechdel test with flying colors.
