Marilyn and her female friends (in particular Sarah), talk a few times during the movie. At one point Marilyn and Sarah talk about Sarah's Peptic ulcer, as she is noticeably short of breath for a few moments. This is a plot point too. They then talk about the perils of living alone (which could be interpreted as living without a man).
Also, Sarah and Ramona talk about making an appointment to see Sarah's new beach house (previously her husband's), which leads to a short conversation about the cosmetic surgery they are having done (that would interfere with the appointment).
