The women talk four times that I count. Julia Sayre talks to Ella Sayer near the beginning when she is looking for Oliver Keith's services as investigator (Ella is his assistant), to investigate Julia's husband. At the end they talk again after the case is closed.

Also Alice (Julia's daughter), accuses Julia of murdering her suspect. She later apologises, and Julia wishes her happiness with her new marriage.

All the conversations between women, which are quite short anyway, seem to be about men, at least implicitly.
