Yeah, his girlfriend and ex shout at each other through a phonecall don't they? Ugh I can't even remember it was the WORST film I've ever paid to see.

This film is horrendous at portraying women. The main character has a girlfriend who literally does everything for him, which he is "satisfied" with. But he's just not happy. Poor him. Later he shouts at her for "smothering" him for this, and there's an unsettling theme about her not wanting children... making her appear cold and just not "right". As if her only purpose as a woman is to provide progeny. Oh, but it's perfectly ok for him to go off and chase after girls and old flames on his grand holiday of discovery. Let's not forget the Third World bashing with the African woman (whom he's only cast his drunken gaze at once) suddenly flinging her clothes off the moment he reappears. No woman would do that! In its defence, the movie is trying to make a point about him being childish but dear god, at no point did his selfish, cheating, take-for-granted attitude ever seem to be a problem for anyone except his old flame, who had only one moment of brilliance and then just sort of blurred into a cliche. Perhaps the reason no REAL woman was portrayed was because they would have knocked him senseless??? This film left me stunned and quietly angry for weeks. Cute idea but dear god, the writer has actuality portrayed an abusive relationship where his long-term servile girlfriend is just supposed to put up with everything. Bad film. Bad bad film.
