This is a lovely and magical story about a very real mom/wife/sister/daughter whose attempt to re define herself changes everyone around her. This film has tons of beautiful music and expresses a contemporary struggle with dignity and authenticity.

Life Inside Out tells the story of Laura a mother who returns to her musical roots, rediscovering the passion of her youth, and in the process finding a way to connect with her troubled teenage son.

Two of the lead characters are Laura and her sister Lydia. We see throughout the movie in several scenes that they have a conflicted relationship over each other's life choices, caring for their aging father and general sisterly resentment. There are several other minor female characters who have conversations and interactions with Laura throughout the movie.
