To be fair, the film only has two named characters who talk to each other, Luise and Hugo. The protagonist is the only significant human character who does anything beside disappear, stay in the same place or die.
Fascinating film with a lot of philosophical themes and centered around a female protagonist, which people will sadly ignore because it does not pass the test.
Interestingly though, the book on which the movie is based, is considered feminist literature. I think that this is one of the examples that show how the Bechdel test can be misleading.
