This movie has 3 women as the main characters. The regularly talk throughout the movie, but I think it's almost always about a man. I know they talk about business, and what to do after the divorce, but the common denominator is always a man. Anyone else who has seen this remember any scenes where they don't talk about men?

If I recall correctly Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann's characters talk about her dog in multiple instances and then Kate Upton's character asks if she can smoke at some point. There's a also just a lot of general bickering in the movie, like when they're driving places. Do those count?

Nicki Minaj's character and Cameron Diaz's character talk about working too hard. Nicki Minaj shares the comment that her mother says selfish people live longer.

I dont think this movie can be so easily judged by the Bechdel Test because of the fact that the cheating husband/boyfriend/lover is the entire plot and centerpiece of the entire movie, and while there are the scenes of them becoming friends and whatnot, you have to expect that the majority of conversations would be about the main plot device.

I disagree. There are various scenes in which the main female characters talk about their lives in general.

I think the movie passes the test technically, as others before me have stated. However, it fails the spirit of the test. The movie is ultimately very focused on these women's relationships with the same man.

The female characters are named and they have numerous conversations about things other than men. This rating should be 3/3. It passes.

it passes as the three main characters do not always talk about men,as much as people like to think they do, women have other things they talk about, and this film shows that.

The majority of the conversations in the movie
Is , as to the plot, certainly about a man
But not all
Eg:
Carly: "Are you for real?"
Kate: "I thought maybe we could have some dinner."
Carly: "How do you know where I live?"
Kate: "We followed you home."
Carly: "If I let you in, we are not drinking cosmos and braiding each other's hair."

There are more conversations like that, that aren't about a man,
The movie is a pretty clean pass
