It definitely does not pass the Bechdel test, but given the setting (most of the story takes place aboard a working submarine/warship), one is surprised to see even one female character, let alone a female character with a important role and who is part of the command structure of the submarine - and whose character has many dimensions and is shown to grow as person over the course of the film.
