There are a number of named female characters. They include: Joyce Brewster, Gayle, Anita, Diana, Jessica, Moonlight, Amy, and Joyce Margolis. For this reason, the film satisfies the first rule of the test.

There are a handful of scenes where two or more of these characters have a conversation. This first such scene takes place less than 10 minutes in, as Joyce and her friends Gayle, Anita, and Diana are talking Frantically at the dinner table. This does satisfy the second rule. However, their conversation only includes topics about Andy (Joyce's son) and Gayle's deceased husband. Thus, this conversation does not satisfy rule 3.

The next woman-to-woman conversation happens at approximately the 38-minute mark. Andy and Gayle are outside a strip club when their car breaks down. They get help from one of the dancers, Moonlight. She has an extremely brief conversation with Gayle - it essentially includes Gayle thanking her for the help and Moonlight telling her not to worry. If this does count as a "conversation," then it also satisfies rule 3 because it does not make mention of a man whatsoever.

The only other interaction between two named, female characters occurs directly after the aforementioned scene. Gayle and Andy get a ride from Andy's ex-girlfriend Jessica. Joyce and Jessica exchange greetings, but the conversation immediately switches to a discussion about Jessica and Andy's past. Therefore, this conversation does not count towards satisfying rule 3.

Overall, the movie DOES technically satisfy all three rules. However, it does so questionably, thus leading to its rating as "dubious" in satisfying each rule.
