There is only one female character in this film, which is otherwise great. The one female character is also the warrior of the group, and never becomes romantically involved with anyone or considered a token.

I don't precisely disagree with the rating, but it's worth noting that the twins (3 and 4) are portrayed, gender-neutrally, as children, and could just as easily be read as girls rather than boys. However, the movie would still fail the second test, because the twins can't talk.

To be honest, there's a monster in the film that is considered to be feminine in its appearance since it goes by the name of "the Seamstress" and the director refers to her as a female.

But still, obviously the Seamstress doesn't engage in a conversation with 7 (the warrioress) about topics other than men nor does she intend to keep her alive. Therefore, the film still doesn't pass the Bechdel test.

3 and 4 did not have a gender and they didn't talk, so they probably don't count. I mean, 7 did spend a prolonged amount of time with the Seamstress when it captured her, but 8 was also there, and I assume they weren't having a conversation, since the Seamstress only speaks Machine (speaks it? I'm not even sure it qualifies as a language). 7 may not have spoken with another female character about something other than men, but it's quite clear she's a loner, not interested in essentially anybody but herself and the gender-neutral twins, and is a strong female character.
