Bechdel Test Movie List

This French movie is about a group of women who form a wrestling team, and it clearly passes the test. The main wrestlers have several conversations with each other about their wrestling techniques and personas, their jobs, and other aspects of their lives (which sometimes but don't always involve a man). Other named female characters--such as their boss, a coworker, and wrestlers not on their team--also converse about their jobs and wrestling. While the main character's motivation to wrestle is to impress her son and another wants to attract a man (in an overly sexualized fashion), the two other main characters are motivated to be empowered and express themselves (and do not have overly sexualized wrestling personas). The movie does have some questionable taste, but the theme of female empowerment is central to the plot.
