The film's story revolves around the two daughters, Tita and Rosaura, of an elderly woman, the younger of whom is forbidden to marry by her mother until the elder is married... and the elder marries Pedro, the true love of the younger. I noted that while this seems to match the criteria of the Bechdel test it is slightly dubious, because much of the conversation between the three women is connected in some way to Pedro, but is often only connected by a very indirect means.
