There is a scene where the protagonist watches a video on which his wife and daughter are seen baking. The mother says to the daughter "would you like some" or similar and the daughter agrees, then the father comes on scene. I think in this case it doesn't matter that it's a film in a film since the characters appear later in the actual film as well, albeit marginally; however, I don't think this briefest of exchanges qualifies as a conversation. So it's iffy, but I'd say it doesn't pass.
