The main conversation between two women is the original séance, in which Blanche and Julia talk about the latter's past. Soon, the audiences realises that it's all a big scam on Blanche's part, but the scene is ten minutes long.
Blanche looks for A. A. Adamson, so she needs to check on every single A. A. Adamson in the city. The secretary of the Adamson she's looking for, after a long question-answer game, offers Blanche to leave a written note. Awkwardly, the conversation ends up being about the secretary's zodiac sign.
