For the purposes of the Bechdel Test: there are several named female characters, but they rarely speak to each other. There are only two scenes where women address each other at all: the very beginning, where Jason's mother is talking to Alice. We never hear either women's name mentioned.. The only reason I know Alice's name is because I just finished watching the 1980 original. Alice doesn't really talk... she just whimpers, "please, don't", and Ms. Voorhese talks about Jason.

The other instance lasts under 30 seconds: Bree asks the lead girl Jenna if she wants to come down to the lake, and she says no. But Bree was addressing both Jenna and her boyfriend, not just Jenna. And while Jenna responds, Bree's boyfriend is standing behind her, gesturing for Jenna not to say yes because he wants to f*ck her, so I am certainly not counting that snipet of dialogue because the boyfriend is speaking for her.

In contrast, male characters talk quite frequently about a variety of topics not concerning women.

Side note: DO NOT watch this movie if you have high blood pressure. Aside from not passing the Bechdel test, this movie is horrendously sexist. I mean my jaw dropped because of how horrendously sexist this movie was. I thought the 1980's version was bad, but this film was written by a bunch of absolute pigs. Some examples of how sexist this movie are: There's a scene where Bree is jet skiing on the lake topless. Jason attacks and kills her boyfriend. she hides under the dock, in the water. We see her face and shoulders. Jason stabs her with a machete right in the top of the head, through a crack in the dock. He pulls out his knife and when he does, it lifts her up out of the water so we see her (fake) tits before she descends into the water.

Other examples include the women characters complete inability to assert themselves (when lead girl's boyfriend is being an asshole to Clay), the way the women are continually sexualized, objectified, and demeaned (campfire scene with unnamed brunette who gratuitously fondles her breasts and poors water on them after having compared her vagina to fish.. bf: "I don't eat fish" brunette: "That's not what you told me"), or are portrayed as poor nice girls in need of protecting (lead girl is a nice girl who sticks up for (mother whore dichotomy). The whole movie is like this. Markus Nispel, you FAIL.
