The movie has two women who talk to each other, about something besides a man - Julian's mother and his girlfriend, Mai, shortly converse about what the latter does for a living - but we only learn her name from the credits, at least in the German version. So I'd say unless her name is stated in the actual movie in the original version, it doesn't pass. (And there's no way I'll go see the original version because seeing this movie once was bad enough).

This movie passes two tests.

There are 2 female characters: Julian's Mother and Mai. Mai is referred to by name during the movie. I don't know if Julian's mother is named, but I would claim that although we don't know what Julian's mother's name is, she's still major enough that knowing her role as "Mother of Julian" is enough. The "named character" rule is meant to keep out interactions with transient characters.

The two have a conversation, but its mostly about Julian and his brother.

I was so pumped about this movie after Drive but was really let down.

Mai's name is definitely very clearly stated in the movie. Despite painting a very misogynistic world - to my mind, intentionally provocatively, without representing misogyny in the minds of the filmmakers - this film does, in fact, pass the test on all counts.

Mai's name is stated in the original version, and given the little amount of dialogue in the movie I would say that their conversation is enough to pass

Julian's mother is called Crystal.

The entire (and unique) conversation is only about Julian and his brother.

Oh sure, there is indeed five lines —almost twenty seconds— of dialogue where Crystal insults Mai without directly talking about Julian, but given the purpose of this little chat —showing that Crystal knows the true nature of Julian's relationship with Mai— I couldn't say it isn't about him.

Let's also remember that the talk was about "how many cocks she could entertain with her cum-dumpster". Those are the actual words used in the film. This is the talk that apparently pass the Bechdel test. Let's just think about that for a moment.

This, plus the global depiction of women in this movie, and, let's not forget, how easy it is to pass the Bechdel test in general, does not convince me to be so tolerant about this movie's sole conversation between two women.

If anything, it should be marked as dubious.
