The scary antagonist is a woman (originally planned as a man but changed to a woman during production), but other than that the portrayal of women in the movie is quite disappointing. There's a stereotypical mom, a stereotypical "hottie" sorority and a stereotypical "goth" sorority, and none are given important roles.
