This film is typical of John Waters' quest for revolutionary bad taste. There are several named female characters that I can remember (Libby, Honey Whitlock, Raven, Cherish, Chardonnay and Pam). In it Ricki Lake (Libby) and Melanie Griffith's (Honey) share a rather disturbing (or funny depending on POV)working realtionship early in the film. Then there is the twisted exchange Cherish and Honey have concerning Cherish's sordid past. Later Honey and Raven (Maggie Gyllenhal) discuss the new path that her film career has taken now that she was joined the group of cinematic terrorists in their quest to destroy mainstream cinema, and speak in defense of their independent film. If you can please rent it or watch it on Netflix. Its funny, dark, violent, and very critical of the Hollywood centric film industry!
