Several named female characters including the protagonist, Anna Merchant. She has two friends Nina and Francine. They do talk to each other quite a bit about men, however, they also discuss: going out for drinks, if Anna can recognize their faces, drinking martinis early in the morning, and facebook photos. Anna also talks extensively to Dr. Langenkamp about her condition, how to live with it and hypnosis.
