There are three named female characters: Patsy, Miss Susan Sprague, and Miss Howard, the orphanage keeper.

Susan and Patsy speak, and though Larry comes up, it is one of several subjects. Susan wants to speak to Patsy because she wants her to know she didn't have Patsy put in the orphanage and that she wants them to be friends. She brings up Larry when she tells Patsy she wants to share a secret with her. Her secret is that she likes Larry and likes Patsy both very much, implying that she'd like the the three of them to be a family. She also explains that contrary to what Patsy thought, she did not reject Larry's adoption of Patsy, resulting in her placement in the orphanage. She supported his fitnessas a parent, but was fired for it.

Though I consider it a pass on its own, the topic of Larry could make it dubious amidst all those motivations (Susan's motivation to speak with Patsy is not so much to discuss Larry, but to discuss her feelings for Patsy, to explain the truth of why Patsy is in the orphanage, and to convey her desire to form a family between all of them).

However, Patsy speaks with Miss Howard about the circus performing for the orphanage. It is a long conversation, and that ensures that even with the dubiousness of the other conversation, the film is a clear pass.
