The two main female characters "meet" off-screen (not introducing themselves, probably only saying hello to each other as they passed).

The problem with this film is that all characters (just about) are played by Alec Guinness, and therefore it is difficult for them to talk to each other. So I would probably not include this one.

Although Guinness does play a number of roles, only one is a woman, so I do not think it matters that some characters can't talk to each other. (And I think I recall Guinness being on screen as two different characters at the same time, somewhat impressive for 1949 technology.) Also, the two female characters I referred to above were not played by Guinness, but by actresses.
